Anti-Violence Initiatives (AVI), works to empower LGBTQ2S+ communities to end all forms of violence through counselling support, advocacy, and education. The AVI coordinator works to support folks with individual and systemic experiences of violence, and trauma, as well as working collaboratively with the community to navigate these experiences in a healthy way. AVI also works with community and local neighborhoods to develop leadership to enhance and build external partnerships.

Access to Justice and Legal Initiatives programs support underserved LGBTQ2S+ communities to reduce barriers to accessing relevant legal services and educational resources in a safe, inclusive and accessible manner free of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination.

With funding support from The Law Foundation of Ontario, The 519 is continuing to advance and expand our legal programming – through partnership development, legal clinic expansion, capacity-building initiatives, and resource development.
