Christina Yager is a Registered Social Worker with over 15 years experience supporting clients who are struggling with their mental health and/or substance use. She is a compassionate and skilled professional who specializes in working with 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and families.

Christina’s work is marked by a deep commitment to providing empathetic, inclusive, and effective support to individuals navigating complex emotional and interpersonal challenges. Christina strives to create safe and affirming spaces where clients feel heard and understood. Her approach is rooted in a deep respect for each individual’s unique experiences and identities. Christina integrates evidence-based practices with a person-centered philosophy. It may be important for you to know that she identifies as gay and is a parent of two school aged children.

Christina earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Queens University, with a Major in Psychology and a Certificate in LGBTQ Studies. She has completed additional training in Emotion Focused Therapy and Family Therapy. She worked for fourteen years at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health in both the Addictions Program as well as the Adult Gender Identity Clinic.

Christina provides psychotherapy services to individuals in late adolescence/emerging adults and adults, as well as parents and families. Christina is also skilled as a secondary assessor for gender-affirming medical care and can provide assessment services and letters to support accessibility of services/OHIP funding.
