Beth Van Lingen | Willow Group Psychology + Psychotherapy

I’m Beth (they/them) and I am an individual, family, and couple/relationship therapist who is passionate about creating environments that are welcoming for and tailored to 2SLGBTQ+ people, neurodivergent people, and people at the intersection of both of these communities. I offer creative, collaborative, and strengths-based sessions for children, adolescents, adults, couples/partners, caregivers, and families. I particularly specialize in supporting trans and gender-diverse youth and their families, drawing from my graduate research and direct clinical experience.

I work alongside a wonderful team at Willow Group Psychology + Psychotherapy. I meet individuals, families and partners in-person at the Willow Group office in Uptown Waterloo and virtually.

My work as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is supported by academic knowledge and my expertise as a storyteller from my degree in journalism. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. I believe your knowledge, insights and strengths are essential to the work we will do together. As a systemic and relational therapist, I share my knowledge and offer perspectives to welcome new possibilities in our work together. I love finding ways to tailor sessions to feel practical and tangible. I enjoy drawing on unique and varied ways of being in the world, and love inviting creativity, self-expression and problem solving in therapy.
