Interested in volunteering with Rainbow Health Ontario?

Help make our new RHO Store a success.

Process orders for RHO brochures, posters and manuals. Pack and mail health education materials to organizations across the province.
Qualifications: Organizational skills, attention to detail. Interest in LGBT health and wellness.  Familiarity with LGBT communities and culture.
Location:  Rainbow Health Ontario’s Toronto Office – 333 Sherbourne Street, Toronto
Time commitment: 2 – 4 hours per month 

Help us build our Service Provider Database. 

Use telephone and email outreach to contact agencies and groups who provide services to LGBT communities.  Invite them to become listed as service providers and offer assistance with registration.
Qualifications: Good interpersonal skills, fluency in French and/or English. Interest in LGBT health and wellness.  Familiarity with LGBT communities and culture.
Location:  Rainbow Health Ontario’s Toronto Office – 333 Sherbourne Street, Toronto
Time commitment: 2 – 4 hours per month 

All volunteers will receive orientation, training and supervision from RHO staff. TTC tokens or parking costs and refreshments will be provided.

RHO is recruiting a new Community Outreach Worker (10 hours per month) in LHIN 6

Rainbow Health Ontario (RHO) is a province-wide program designed to improve access to services and to promote the health of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities. RHO has a central office in Toronto and outreach workers in each of Ontario's 14 Local Health Integration Networks (LHINS).

We are seeking someone who is interested in LGBT health and wellness, who can build networks with service providers and community members, who enjoys learning and being part of larger LGBT health movement. We offer compensation of $30 per hour, job related expenses and the opportunity to attend two weekend retreats per year. We are especially interested in people who represent the diversity of our LGBT community and who speak both English and French.

The Outreach Worker must live for the majority of the year in LHIN 6

RHO Staffing Announcement
August 20, 2010

Rainbow Health Ontario is pleased to announce two new additions to the staff team: Matt Caron Francino as the Francophone Service Coordinator and Donna Turner as the Communications Coordinator.

Matt is excited to join the RHO team and comes to us with several years of experience providing training and anti-oppression workshops. He previously worked at Planned Parenthood Toronto, The 519 Church Street Community Centre and Action Positive VIH/Sida. Matt has a Masters in Education; he researched Francophones living in minority environments.

Donna has a Public Relations Diploma from Algonquin College and was most recently the Manager of Communications at the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario. Her previous experience includes working at the Inside Out Lesbian and Gay Film and Video Festival and the Canadian AIDS Society. Donna is thrilled to join the team.
